Funiculi, Funicula!

Warning: typos allowed

My writing on this site is not perfect.  There may be typos, and, at times, my sentences might be grammatically incorrect.  I am not aiming for perfection in the mechanics of writing.  My purpose is to share our experiences with family and friends in an imperfect and sometimes humorous way.  So, if you are looking for perfect writing please stop here.  Otherwise move on with the knowledge that somethings may be written poorly and some entries might be out of order.  If and when I have the time (which I probably won't), I will return to revise and edit.

Ciao!

Preface

Finally, after 9 years, we will be returning to Italy.  We will be taking this journey with Tom and Anne and Michael and Marisa (they, too, have waited 9 years to return).  It seems so long ago that we traveled the roads of this wonderful country and engaged ourselves in the culture.  We are looking forward to staying in Rome and Amalfi where we have booked a few tours.  Joy is everywhere, finiculi, finicula!

(At the end of the Postscript page there is a link that will bring you to a link to our Shutterfly Share Site where you will find our photos of this Italian adventure).

State side during planning

Anticipating another adventure!

Jun. 24, 2017
Sue, Steve, Anne, Tom, Marisa, and Michael Get Ready
We are all anticipating a GREAT trip that will be filled with new adventures. We met three times to share and plan. The following tours have been booked: The Dark Heart of Rome, Cooking Class, The Catacombs and Roman Countryside Walking Tour, Wine Tour, and finally a Cheese Tour. In the meantime, we are all planning on enjoying the culture (again) and smaller excursions either independently or as group. To some of us, it feels like going home. Let the fun begin!

Obstacle #1

For those of you who know us and know of our travel adventures, this will come as no surprise.  The agent we used was Fleetway Travel out of the UK.  Tom found them through Travelzoo.  Apparently (to make a long story short and according to Fleetway) when we booked our travel to Italy we were supposed to tell them that we wanted assigned seats for our flights.  Needless to say, we found out the hard way.  We paid extra for the assigned seats from Boston to Dublin, but were told we had to get our seating from Dublin to Rome when we check in during our brief layover.  Let's see what happens.  Let the fun begin - it is another ADVENTURE!

Kind regards
Susan
Uh Oh!
The rental car barrier gate wouldn't let us out! Despite maintenance being called to fix it we had to turn around and exit through the entrance - GOING IN THE WRONG DIRECTION! Was this an indication of what was to come?

I can't wait to read about the rest of our adventures, especially where you found your relatives. Has it been written and I just can't find it?
