July 16
The word of the day is “moose”.
Today was a day at sea. We
ate, walked, and baked in the sun. Diana, Jim, Marisa, and Michael all got some relief in the pool, while I waited and waited and waited for Steve to return from wherever he went. He
never returned so I went searching for him. Lo and behold he was lounging and reading in a nice shady spot that he had found. He claimed he texted me,
but how was I supposed to get a text when my phone wasn’t on!
Anyway, after banging my head on the pipe I had to climb under to get some shade, I was able to enjoy some reading. Michael
and Marisa found some shade near us and Diana and Jim baked some more in the sun.
It was time to relax and clean up for dinner. Tonight, after some confusion about
our new seating arrangement, we ordered our meal. Tonight’s word was “moose”. The word “moose” no longer means a large
mammal to us. It means Steve can not read a menu without glasses! You see, while we were dining in Miami, Steve read “Niciose” as “Moose” and that is what he ordered from the poor
unsuspecting waitress -“moose”. The poor girl just looked at him as the rest of us looked at each other and burst out laughing. So when
“Niciose” was on tonight’s menu, we all asked Steve if he would be ordering the “Moose”.
We all enjoyed our meal and conversation.
By
this time, the sea was getting a bit peeved and I was getting a bit nauseous. We all headed up to see the 9:00 show in the theater, but before it even started my exhaustion and queasiness made me call it
a night. Steve and I left Marisa, Michael, Jim, and Diana to watch the show and we headed back to the cabin.
