Katie, Tom, Magen, Brooke, and Tommy arrived last night. Magen was so excited: she was in rare form. After a short visit we said our good nights and tried to rest up for today.
Upon getting up we quickly got ready and headed down
to the restaurant for breakfast. Once done we took a nice quiet walk on the beach. Colby wasn't thrilled about walking, but he knew he had no choice if he was to enjoy the rest of the day.
And what a day it was! We all went down to the
boardwalk where Magen chased seagulls and splashed in the water as it washed up onto the shore as Brooke, Tommy, Colby, Madelyn, Katie, and Tom watched after her. Eventually Colby and Madelyn were so wet the decided just to plunge right in. Steve
and I observed all of this from the top of the pier.
It was finally time for the boardwalk amusement park to open. The kids were READY! In fact, they rode the rides at Jolly Rogers amusement park on the boardwalk and then we all went
down the street to Jolly Rogers other location for more rides and miniature golf. The last ride on the boardwalk that Tom and Colby went on was the Slingshot! They were propelled at least 100 feet in the air and bounced up and down on bungy type
cords before touching down again. Golfing included Magen taking the balls off the green and playing with them.
It was after 6pm when the fun had to end and the exhausted Wade family got into the car to drive home. Colby, Maddie, Steve, and
I went down to Coconuts beachside restaurant for dinner and entertainment (a mix of country and the Beatles).
It is now 8:30 and Steve and I are on the balcony while 2 exhausted kids watch TV.
