Up bright and early (actually 8:30 has become the bright and early) to have breakfast and get to the pool. This is the first sunny day of our Maryland trip. It is going to be brutally hot and we want to get to the pool to get chairs. Steve
opts out of breakfast and heads straight to the pool. He has been focused on his reading (duh!!! this isn't anything new) of the Grapes of Wrath. Colby, Maddie, and I head down for our final breakfast buffet. Once done eating, Colby and Maddie
head over to swim in the pool and I go back to the room to pack up for our departure.
Madelyn has become quite a diver. She is catching the attention of some kids who have taken diving lessons, and they comment that she is "pretty good".
Colby, good brother that he can be (sometimes LOL), tells her of the compliment she got. She is too cute.
Swimming has exhausted them so we check out. I want to walk the beach one last time before we leave, but Steve says no, claiming
that it won't be good for my back. I like the way he uses my back as his excuse for not wanting to walk in the bright hot sun.
An hour and a half later we arrive at Katie and Tom's. The pool is inviting and the kids head straight for the
water. Magen is happy to see her cousins, after she wakes up from her nap. And she quickly follows them and plays with them on her slide and in the pool.
A game of Bubble Talk takes place after dinner. Try teaching a 62 year old man how
to play and you get an 11 year old boy rolling his eyes in disbelief that Steve didn't catch on as quickly as Colby thought he should have. I guess our years of experience and wisdom just can't match the wisdom and experience of an 11 year old. Colby
has entered the age of knowing it all. What is it that Tiny Tim said..."God bless us every one".
