Okay, so we
missed our connecting flights to Bangkok. Who cares if we will be 17 hours late getting there? I DO! Once our delayed Providence to Dulles flight touched down, and the flight crew said they had called ahead to let all the connecting
flights know we were there, we all (everyone on the plane – all with different connections) hustled!
As we were power walking from one terminal to the next, and sitting on the train connecting them,
then power walking again – up escalators, along moving walkways from one empty gate to another Steve kept saying “We’ll make it, we’ll make it”. I kept saying, “It’s (the plane) left, it’s left”.
We missed it by 5 minutes. So this time we slowly walked to the other side of the terminal to wait in line at customer service. During the walk there, Steve kept saying “It’s not that bad, we
only missed it by 5 minutes” Over and over again I had to listen to “we only missed it by 5 minutes” – like that was something to be happy about. I finally looked at him and said, “STOP. I don’t want to hear
that we missed it by only 5 minutes. WE MISSED IT!”
But, I am happy to report that once we got to the customer service desk I didn’t once complain. I was polite and understanding.
I didn’t cry or pout or make the poor customer service agent cringe
So now we are at the hotel we were given for the night and we are looking forward to no glitches in today’s flights. But
this time, instead of connecting in Frankfurt, Germany, we are connecting in Tokyo. And, you all know about last year’s adventure in Tokyo. Hold on, here we come!
